NEW YORK (CNN) -- If security for the World Series goes as planned, the only strikes will be on the playing field.

Because the New York subway series -- Mets vs. Yankees -- is such a high profile event, law enforcement personnel in the nation's largest city are taking precautions to keep the games from becoming a target for terrorists.
