NEW YORK (CNN) -- More than 75 homeless men received winter coats Monday from a volunteer effort in New York City.
"This is the 12th annual coat drive, and we collect coats from December 1 through December 31 every year," said Ann Coy, director of development for New York Cares. "This year our goal is to collect 85,000 coats."
Volunteers for the not-for-profit volunteer corps helped the homeless men choose from hundreds of coats piled on tables at the New York City Rescue Mission in lower Manhattan.
