Wet whirlwind hits the beach

CHARLESTON, South Carolina (CNN) -- Sunburns, riptides and the occasional shark are the typical fears of people playing on ocean beaches.

What they don't expect is some kind of Wizard-of-Oz action by a watery wirlwind known as a waterspout.

One of those tornadoes over water came ashore Thursday in Charleston, South Carolina, scattering beach chairs, umbrellas and the people in its path.
