| Malawi deputy minister quits, faces murder trialLILONGWE (Reuters) -- Malawi's deputy agriculture minister, who has been charged with murder, resigned on Monday, state radio said. The minister, Joe Manduwa, stands accused of shooting to death Kachepa Filiasi in Blantyre in December 1998 and is expected to face trial soon. The trial was delayed after the case file had gone missing, which has since been found. Manduwa's resignation was accepted by President Bakili Muluzi, who appointed him to the post in March this year, the radio said. Copyright 2000 Reuters. All rights reserved.
