| At least 20 dead in rebel attack in AngolaLISBON, Portugal (Reuters) -- At least 20 people were killed when suspected UNITA guerrilla attacked a convoy of goods trucks near the central highland town of Huambo, Portugal's Lusa news agency reported on Friday. Lusa said the attack took place near Luvuvu, some 70 km (45 miles) south on the main road linking Huambo with the rest of the former Portuguese colony. A number of people were injured in the attack, the latest in a series, and 21 trucks were destroyed, Lusa said in a report from Huambo. Huambo is a former stronghold of the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA) recaptured by government forces during an offensive last year. The government claims to control most of Angola's towns but admits that Unita remains a threat in the countryside. Copyright 2000 Reuters. All rights reserved.
