| Mexico's outgoing Zedillo meets Fox in privateMEXICO CITY (Reuters) -- Outgoing Mexican President Ernesto Zedillo had a private meeting Thursday with his successor President-elect Vicente Fox, Fox's team said Friday. Martha Sahagun, Fox's spokeswoman, said she did not know what the two men talked about. Fox, of the conservative National Action Party, won a July 2 general election, ending the 71-year rule of Zedillo's Institutional Revolutionary Party. Sahagun said the new government would outline its communication policy on December 4, three days after the administration handover. Sahagun noted the four basic tenets of the new policy would be: society's right to public information; the right to government information; the right to freedom of expression and society's right to participate in government decisions. The government plans to reserve the right to withhold information in certain cases. Copyright 2000 Reuters. All rights reserved.
