From CNN correspondent Peter Humi
PARIS (CNN) -- It started with the ransacking of a McDonald's restaurant in rural southwest France. Now the trial of Jose Bove, the mustachioed local farmer who allegedly led the attack, has become a media circus.
Bove is being portrayed, and is portraying himself, as the champion of traditional French values; a true patriot standing up to that most unacceptable face of multiculturalism -- bad food.
