| Two die in Greek forest fire
ATHENS (Reuters) -- Two people were killed and six are missing after a forest fire swept through a village in northwestern Greece on Thursday, fire department officials said. The fire destroyed a number of buildings in the village of Agia Marina, near the western town of Ioannina. About 30 fire engines were working to bring the blaze under control, officials said. A combination of heat and high winds has fuelled devastating fires that have destroyed thousands of acres of forests and farmland in Greece this summer. Copyright 2000 Reuters. All rights reserved.
