| Arab League says Israeli attacks dangerous, worryingCAIRO, Egypt (Reuters) -- The head of the Arab League on Thursday said fresh attacks by Israeli helicopter gunships on Palestinian targets were extremely dangerous, adding that the escalating violence was destroying any hopes for peace. The Israeli strikes followed the killing of two Israeli soldiers by a Palestinian mob earlier in the day. "It (the Israeli attack) is a very dangerous and worrying action. Every day, tension and difficulties increase," said Esmat Abdel-Meguid, secretary-general of the Cairo-based Arab League. "We are following these developments closely, which are destroying the peace process," he added. Copyright 2000 Reuters. All rights reserved.
