| Pro-Palestinian protest in Egypt turns violentCAIRO, Egypt (Reuters) -- Two people were hurt on Wednesday when student protests in support of Palestinians in their struggle against Israeli occupation turned violent, security sources said. Hundreds of students at al-Mansoura University, 120 km (70 miles) north of Cairo, assaulted a crew from Egyptian state television, wounding the driver and soundman and smashing a car. The attack happened as police fought to prevent the students from spilling into the street outside the university campus. At least 182 people, most of them Palestinians, have died in nearly six weeks of clashes with Israeli forces. The violence has sparked many pro-Palestinian demonstrations at universities and mosques in Egypt and elsewhere in the Arab world. Copyright 2000 Reuters. All rights reserved.
