| Ethiopian airline disputes cause of plane mishap at Cairo airportCAIRO, Egypt (Reuters) -- An Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 757 cargo plane suffered heavy damage on landing at Cairo airport in disputed circumstances, airport officials said on Friday. They said the one of the plane's engines was destroyed and one was damaged in Thursday's accident. The plane's tyres exploded and its undercarriage and fuselage were also damaged. No one was injured in the accident. Ethiopian Airlines officials blamed the mishap on an unidentified object on the runway. Cairo airport officials denied this, saying the runway, 05R, had been swept two hours before the plane landed. They said the explosion of the tyres had caused the damage. Copyright 2000 Reuters.
