| 22 Jordanians, Syrians die in bus accidentKUWAIT CITY, Kuwait (Reuters) -- Twenty-two Jordanians and Syrians died in a road accident in Saudi Arabia on their way home from Kuwait for the Muslim Eid al-Fitr feast, a newspaper reported on Saturday. The daily Al-Qabas said a bus carrying 25 people from Kuwait burst into flames just after crossing the border into Saudi Arabia when it hit a truck. Three people were injured. The newspaper said those killed were Jordanians and Syrians heading home for the feast in late December which follows the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan. About two thirds of Kuwait's 2.2 million population are expatriate workers and their families. Most come from other Arab states and the Indian sub-continent. Copyright 2000 Reuters.
