Hell's Angel Sonny Barger launches cross-country book-signing tourNEW YORK (CNN) -- In their youth, members of the Hell's Angels were known as a wild, sometimes lawless bunch. But at 61, one of the infamous Angels has turned over a new leaf -- a leaf in his own book, that is. Ralph "Sonny" Barger has hopped on his Harley to promote "Hell's Angel: The Life and Times of Sonny Barger and the Hell's Angels Motorcycle Club." (William Morrow & Co.)
The 288-page tome recounts the formation of the Oakland, California, Hell's Angels chapter, his battles against government efforts to destroy the motorcycle club, the standoff between the bikers and the 1960s anti-war elite, and the story behind the fiasco at the 1969 Rolling Stones concert at Altamont, California. CNN's Jeanne Moos has more on the fabled biker.
