Tim Roth: Snape or ape?LONDON (Reuters) - British Hollywood actor Tim Roth has to decide between playing a mysterious professor or an ape in his next film. Roth has been offered the role of Professor Snape in Warner Brothers' movie version of top-selling children's book "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone," his agency said on Friday. Warner Brothers is a division of Time Warner, parent company of CNN.com. But the actor known for his menacing air in movies like "Reservoir Dogs" and "Pulp Fiction" also has the chance to co-star as a primate in director Tim Burton's remake of "Planet of the Apes." "Nothing has been confirmed," a spokeswoman for the agency said. Copyright 2000 Reuters. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten, or redistributed.
