1. What symptoms did Julian Schwartz exhibit? What were his obsessions in fifth grade, high school and his first college basketball season? What has Schwartz done to correct his condition? Why was did he contemplate suicide? How did Schwartz decide to fight his OCD?
2. Research online and media resources to answer the following questions about OCD:
- What is Obsessive Compulsive Disorder?
- What are the causes of OCD?
- Is it a new disease? How long has it been recognized as a disease?
- Is it more prevalent among adults or teens? What are the differences in adults and teens who have been diagnosed with this disorder?
- What treatment options are available for those diagnosed with OCD?
3. Share findings from research with the class by presenting five minute public service announcements describing symptoms and treatments of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
