Mentoring program for children of prisoners has bipartisan appeal

There isn't much that Senators Orrin Hatch and Hillary Clinton can agree on. But they are both so keen on one project that they have set partisan politics aside to co-chair a fundraiser for it.

The Dream Academy is an innovative mentoring program that focuses on some of the 2.2 million children who have a parent in prison: The aim -- to stop them from ending up in the same place.

Wintley Phipps is the charity's charismatic president, a Trinidad-born adventist minister and professional baritone. Founded in 1998, the Dream Academy now reaches 200 children in Washington DC. But Phipps wants to take his mission nationwide.
