Fire forces evacuation of House office buildingWASHINGTON (CNN) -- A small fire in a Capitol Hill office building Wednesday prompted its evacuation and slightly injured three people. The fire was in a bathroom in suite of offices belonging to Rep. Alcee Hastings, D-Fla, in the Rayburn House Office Building. Two Capitol Police officers and a congressional staff member suffered smoke inhalation while putting out the fire. All three were treated on the scene and released. A police spokesman said he did not know if Hastings was in his office when the fire occurred, but said the congressman was not among those injured. The building was evacuated for about 30 minutes because of heavy smoke conditions. The cause of the fire, which police said is not considered suspicious, will be investigated by the DC Fire Department and the office of the Architect of the Capitol. RELATED SITES:
