Annan: Allies 'baffled' by Bush approach

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan said Tuesday that U.S. allies are "a bit baffled" by the Bush administration's approach to American commitments abroad.

"I think some of the allies and the foreign countries are a bit baffled by the new approach," Annan said. "They do not really quite understand how this is going to -- where this is going to lead."

His comments came in a wide-ranging interview with Judy Woodruff, the host of CNN's "Inside Politics."
