Orbitz is ready to take off

NEW YORK (CNNfn) - Orbitz, a new online travel site which is backed by five major airlines, said it is ready to meet or beat low-cost airfares offered by competitors. But the rivals feared that the new contender would lead to unfavorable higher prices and eventually drive them out of the business.

These concerns have resulted in intense scrutiny from Federal antitrust regulators, and Jeffrey Katz, chief executive officer of Orbitz, appeared on CNNfn's The N.E.W. Show to talk about some of the debatable issues.
