LONDON, England (CNN) -- Elton John said Wednesday he would appeal a multi-million-dollar high court decision against him in a lawsuit in which he claimed concert tour costs should not have been paid to a management company.

"Obviously I am disappointed and I am considering with my lawyers the question of appeal; which seems likely," the 53-year-old entertainer said in a statement. "As everyone in business knows, it is notoriously difficult to succeed in a claim for negligence against professional advisers. I am looking forward to fulfilling my continuing recording and touring commitments."

The star was suing Andrew Haydon, former managing director of John Reid Enterprises (JREL), his former management company, and accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers, which managed his business interests.

John accused Haydon of negligence in allowing JREL to charge him millions in overseas tour expenses, which John claimed should have paid for by the company under a management agreement.

John accused PricewaterhouseCoopers of negligence in managing his affairs.

Both defendants denied the charges.

The case lasted 43 days and ended February 1, when the judge reserved his decision. The ruling was made public Wednesday.
