LOS ANGELES (CNN) -- Roger Clinton, the younger half-brother of former President Clinton, has been subpoenaed by New York U.S. Attorney Mary Jo White for his role in the former president's last minute pardons, his attorney said.

Roger Clinton is being asked to appear in front of a federal grand jury investigating the matter on Friday.

The Los Angeles attorney representing him, Bart Williams, said he will respond to the subpoena this week, but would not comment on what the response would be.

According to Williams, Roger Clinton has no plans to travel to New York to testify at this time. Williams reiterated that the individuals Clinton asked to be pardoned did not receive one, and said that Clinton denies receiving any money from the individuals he petitioned on behalf of.

Time Magazine reports that White granted immunity to Democratic donor Denise Rich to find out what her role was in President Clinton's decision to pardon her ex-husband, billionaire financier Marc Rich.
