MONTREAL, Canada (CNN) -- As Californians look for power solutions, a Canadian firm is having growing success selling its vision of a solar-powered future.

The Montreal company is reviving solar power as an alternative power source, banking that its inexpensive, portable solar power packs and solar wall heating systems are one answer to power shortages.

Innovative Consumer Products' Sass Peress says: "Really, we're looking at the increasingly mobile consumer of today, who wants to be with power wherever they go."
