NEW YORK -- Rapper Eminem and teen sensation Britney Spears have been given a raspberry by American teenagers.

A poll of readers of Jane magazine, aimed at teenage girls in the U.S., found almost half couldn't stand Eminem's "Marshall Mathers" LP, which has provoked controversy with its violent and homophobic lyrics.

They voted it "the most overrated" record ever.

In addition 28 percent of the youngsters polled gave the same verdict on Britney Spears' "Oops I Did it Again," which has sold millions of copies around the world.
