UK pop singer Piper marriesLONDON, England -- British teen pop singer Billie Piper has married media personality Chris Evans at a secret wedding in Las Vegas. "Chris Evans and Billie Piper are husband and wife," a Virgin Radio spokeswoman said. "They married last night at a secret ceremony in Las Vegas." The couple brought their wedding forward by more than four months to avoid intense publicity, the British Press Association reported. Evans, 35, is a millionaire radio DJ and television presenter, while Piper, 18, was the youngest-ever female singer to score a number one hit in Britain with her song "Because We Want To" when she was 15. The pair met on his television show a year ago and their romance began in December after she appeared on his radio breakfast show. Evans has had a string of high-profile romances in recent years, including a short-lived fling with ex-Spice Girl Geri Halliwell. He sold his production company Ginger Productions, including Virgin Radio commercial station, to Scottish Media last year, pocketing £75 million pounds ($108 million) from the sale. The wedding was not supposed to take place until August at Evans's £6 million mansion in Surrey. The wedding ceremony took place at the Little Church of the West on the Las Vegas strip and was conducted by a local minister, the Reverend James Hamilton. Church manager Greg Smith said the couple looked "ecstatic" as they exchanged vows in front of six guests, PA said. "I can confirm that Chris Evans and Billie Piper were married in a traditional ceremony yesterday," he said. Evans was wearing striped trousers and a green shirt, Mr Smith added, while Piper looked "radiant" in a pink sarong and white cotton blouse. The couple are the latest in a string of celebrities to marry at the Little Church of the West, including Bob Geldof and Paula Yates, Noel Gallagher and Meg Mathews and Richard Gere and Cindy Crawford.
