Halle Berry on nudity: 'I feel free'NEW YORK -- Halle Berry, who strips down and heats up the screen in the film "Swordfish," says she's not big on dieting. "I eat everything -- red meat, lots of vegetables -- and I drink Diet Coke. But no water, and that's really bad. I've learned not to eat a huge portion just because it's on my plate," Berry tells Glamour magazine for its July issue. On her nude scenes in the film, which also stars John Travolta, the 32-year-old actress says, "I had been afraid of doing nudity my whole career. But I realized that I was just afraid of what people would morally think of me doing nudity. Now that I've released myself from that, I feel free to use my body in any way a character calls for." Berry has also starred in films like "Jungle Fever" (1991), "Bulworth" (1998) and "X-Men" (2000). Janine Turner lightens upLOS ANGELES, California -- Janine Turner says she has found another TV role she likes. The actress plays Dr. Dana Stowe on Lifetime Television's "Strong Medicine," scheduled to open its second season on July 15. "She's very devoted to her work," the 38-year-old actress says of her character. "But now she's starting to have an affair with an intern. She's having more fun. She's starting to lighten up." Turner first turned heads as the bush pilot and love interest in the 1990s quirky drama "Northern Exposure," currently airing in reruns on A&E. Clooney to direct Chuck Barris film?HOLLYWOOD, California -- George Clooney might soon make his directing debut, according to Variety. The actor who has starred in films including "Out of Sight" (1998) and "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" (2000) is reported to be interested in "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind," the adaptation of the Chuck Barris memoir. In his 1984 "Confessions," Barris declared that, while he was known as a game show magnate and host of the quirky "Gong Show," it was all a cover for his real duties as a CIA assassin. While the project has bounced around in pre-production at Miramax, Clooney is said to be very interested in directing the screenplay. Barry Williams in fight with unionCHICAGO, Illinois -- Barry Williams, the actor who played Greg in "The Brady Bunch," is duking it out with Actors' Equity Association. Williams filed charges of unfair labor practices Monday with the National Labor Relations Board against the stage actors' union, which has fined Williams $52,000 for starring in a non-Equity touring production of "The Sound of Music." Williams says the fine was illegal because he had already resigned from the union before playing Captain von Trapp in the musical. In a prepared statement, Equity says it stands by its decision to fine Williams, subject only to its ongoing appeal process. |
