Pitt, Aniston not pregnantLOS ANGELES, California -- Call off the baby shower. Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston aren't pregnant with their first child after all. The pregnancy news was first reported in the German edition of Marie Claire. "No. 1 is already on the way," Pitt was quoted as saying. "Now we're just hoping that everything goes well." But The Associated Press says that publicists for both Pitt and Aniston -- married nearly a year ago -- denied the report. And the writer of the piece, Elisa Leonelli, told the AP that her story was mistranslated. Leonelli said she asked Pitt: "When do you think you'll start having children?" "Whenever it's right, I think we'll feel it," Leonelli said Pitt told her. Aniston, 32, is a star of the NBC sitcom "Friends," as well as several movies. Pitt, 37, has starred in films like "Fight Club" (1999) and "Seven" (1995). Conan O'Brien sorry for slurPASADENA, California -- Conan O'Brien says he's sorry. The host of "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" apologized over the weekend at the Television Critics Association annual summer meeting for allowing a racial epithet to be heard on the July 11 episode. On that show, comedian Sarah Silverman used a derogatory term to refer to people of Chinese descent. "The ultimate responsibility to drop audio on something like that is mine. It's my show, 'Late Night with Conan O'Brien,' " O'Brien said, according to The Associated Press. "If I had to do it over again, I understand that word is offensive to people, it hurts people. I would say, 'Let's drop audio on it.'" O'Brien said he'll be more vigilant about what his guests say. "We have a lot of different voices come on the show, we have a lot of really intelligent, bright people, and I'm very reluctant to edit people," he said. "In this case, we clearly should have done that. To those people who got hurt hearing that word, I apologize." Lauryn Hill: 'I'm a mess'NEW YORK -- Lauryn Hill says, "It's a new day." For fans who witnessed her taping of MTV's unplugged, it was a grand night. The Grammy-winning R&B singer and songwriter recorded an emotional episode of "Unplugged," and she used the time to talk and sing about her faith in God, freedom and the trappings of fame. The songs she sang were all new, and some didn't have titles yet. One thing's certain: they came from the heart. Hill sang with tears streaming down her face during many songs, according to The Associated Press. "I'm a mess but God is dealing with me every day," Hill, 26, said. "That's what all these songs are about: problem, cause and solution." Hill's "Unplugged" appearance is scheduled to air on MTV2 in the late fall, and will rerun on MTV afterward. Kidman out of 'Dogville'?COPENHAGEN -- Talks for Nicole Kidman to star in Lars von Trier's $9 million "Dogville" have broken down, according to Variety. The film's production company, Zentropa Entertainment, told the daily on Monday, "We finalized negotiations with Kidman four weeks ago; still, she has been reluctant to sign the contract. Now we have lost patience." However Kidman's representatives at Creative Artists Agency are mystified by the news and say the actress is still attached to the picture, according to Variety. |
