LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- Actor-writer Ben Affleck has entered a treatment facility to undergo alcohol rehabilitation, his publicist said. The actor checked in to the facility, Promises, Friday. "Ben is a self-aware and smart man who has decided that a fuller life awaits him without alcohol," said a statement released on behalf of the 28-year-old actor. "He has chosen to seek out professional assistance, and is committed to traveling to healthier road with the support of family, friends and fans." Affleck shares an Oscar for Best Screenplay for the film "Good Will Hunting" with his good friend and frequent co-star Matt Damon. He is currently starring in "Pearl Harbor." His next film, "Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back," releases August 22. In it, Affleck plays two roles. |
