LONDON, England -- A man has been arrested in the UK for allegedly stalking film star and model Liz Hurley, police said on Monday.

A spokesman said a 32-year-old man had been arrested on Sunday in the west London district of Kensington, where the pregnant star lives.

"He's being held in custody at Kensington police station," the spokesman said. No charges had yet been laid.

Hurley, the former face of Estee Lauder cosmetics, shot to fame at a 1994 film premiere by wearing a Versace dress held together only by a series of oversize safety pins.

She has since starred in "Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery" and "Bedazzled.

Her split last year with "Four Weddings and a Funeral" star Hugh Grant and an ongoing public spat with millionaire ex-lover Steve Bing over whether he is the father of her unborn child have ensured she has seldom strayed from the headlines.

Hurley has said she is "deeply" hurt by Bing's insistence that their relationship was not "exclusive" and that her child may not be his.

The actress and model hit back after Bing broke his silence to cast doubt over whether he is the father.

Last Tuesday, Bing released a statement which said: "Ms. Hurley and I were not in an exclusive relationship when she became pregnant.

"It is her choice to be a single mother. The insinuation that I would not care about the well-being of another human being has been very hurtful to both myself and my family.

"If indeed I am the father, I will be an extremely involved and responsible parent."

But later Hurley, 36, said that as far as she was concerned their relationship had been exclusive and she has been loyal to her lover.

She told the UK Press Association: "I'm deeply distraught by Stephen Bing publicly declaring that he hadn't been in an 'exclusive relationship' with me.

"This was the first I had heard of this and the implications are very painful, especially as I am shortly to give birth to his child.

"I loved Stephen enormously during the 18 months we were together. Contrary to erroneous reports, we were still very much happy together when I discovered I was pregnant.

"I was completely loyal and faithful to Stephen throughout this time as, indeed, he assured me he was to me."

Bing, 35, a Hollywood film producer, pledged to be a "responsible parent" if he was the father of the baby, which is due in April.
