NEW YORK (CNN) -- "Who is the Mole?" ABC hopes that question will be on peoples' lips as frequently as that other prime-time query, "Is that your final answer?"

The same network that brought you the game-show phenomenon "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" is back with another reality TV series, this one airing Tuesday nights.

Sort of like "Mission: Impossible" meets Agatha Christie, "The Mole" is a mystery game in which men and women face physical and mental challenges while trying to uncover The Mole, the double agent among them. The prize? Up to $1 million, with lesser amounts set aside for different challenges.

Some think this money-fueled mystery could out-perform last year's "Survivor," a ratings triumph for CBS.

I'm biased, but frankly I do think it's better than 'Survivor,'" says "Mole" host Anderson Cooper, a former ABC News correspondent. "I think it's a lot smarter. The game itself has more to it.

"Thankfully, we weren't trapped on an island. We were traveling about 15,000 miles (on) four different countries, two continents," he says. "There are no fat naked people running around on our program, and the closest we got to eating rat was ratatouille."

In this game, knowledge is power. At the end of each one-hour episode, the players are given a quiz on The Mole's identity. The player who knows the least is "executed" -- sent home immediately.

Last week, 42-year-old Manuel Herrera was the first to get the ax. "I really think what happened was, I Iost my focus," says the California native. "[I] forgot all about the strategies and then, next thing you know, I'm taking a test and I'm thinking, uh oh."

What makes "The Mole" fun is that even couch Sherlocks can play along.

Here's a list of the nine players who are left. See if you can answer the burning question: "Who is The Mole?"
