NEW YORK (CNN) -- Thousands of dogs strutted their stuff at New York's Madison Square Garden for this year's Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, which ended Tuesday. That left 2,500 other canines to -- figuratively -- lick their wounds.

But these dogs are not losers. Each and every one of them had to be named champion at a dog show just to be invited. And considering the grooming, feeding and care their owners provide, these are, indeed, some lucky dogs.
