LONDON, England -- Brian Dowling has won Britain's second Big Brother TV series scooping a £70,000 ($100,000) prize.

He jumped in the air and shouted, "Oh my god, I'm going home, I'm going home," when his name was called out by Davina McCall, the host of the Channel 4 show.

Brian then hugged and kissed runner-up Helen Adams before she left the Big Brother house barefoot, wearing a sparkling light blue off-the-shoulder dress and carrying her shoes in her hands.

On leaving the house after 63 days, Helen shouted: "Oh my God. Thank God. That's all I've got to say."

Air steward Brian, who had his 23rd birthday during the contest, was one of the favourites to land the prize after winning millions of fans.

After just a week of the show he was already joint favourite with Dean O'Loughlin, who eventually finished third, charming the viewers with his effervescent laid back attitude.

The gay Irishman, who now lives north of London, confessed on one occasion to being celibate for two years.
