(IDG) -- While it's unclear what the 'S' in the title really stands for, you'll immediately come up with your own negative 'S' words when you play this dismal racer.

Using today's latest cars youll race on eight tracks, each containing four challenging divisions that range from beginner to expert. After successfully winning each race, you can unlock more cars for a total of 43 speedsters from 12 manufacturers.

The horrible controls and out-of-tune soundtrack makes this driver a liability on the road. Don't even bother to test drive this lemon instead, wait for an exhilarating ride with "Gran Turismo 3."

Graphics You'll steer decent-looking car models through sharply detailed and well-designed courses. The behind-the-wheel perspective is also a nice touch.

Sound Play "Type-S" on mute. The music is just horrible and the sound effects are minimal without any realism.

Controls Even if your suspension, brake, and gear ratios are fixed for maximum handling, the controls are just way too sensitivethe slightest touch on the analog stick makes your car careen into walls and run off course.

Fun Factor Since the controls are the most important factor in a driving game, "Type-S" fails. Wait until "Gran Turismo 3" to see how well-constructed a good racing game can be.
