3. Alien Song: After circulating through e-mail for months, and being featured on CNN and in the London Times, this video clip has become an Internet classic. The video plays Gloria Gaynor's disco anthem "I Will Survive" as the theme for a three-fingered, one-eyed extraterrestrial named Blit Wizbot. The author of the program, Victor Navone, says he spent 250 hours to produce the program -- and his hard work didn't go to waste.

4. Div-X Codec: Use this to play videos that have been compressed using Div-X, a technology based on the MPEG-4 compression format. Div-X files are 15 percent smaller than they would be in standard DVD format, which enables them to be played over the Web. Because of their powerful compression technology, Div-X files have been called the "MP3 of the video world."

5. Indeo Video Drivers: Ramp up your video playback with Intel's latest drivers. The free drivers support Indeo video codecs 4 and 5, and others. They also support audio codec 2.5 (decode only) and plug-ins for Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer.
