(IDG) -- Last month's No.1, Dell's OptiPlex GX150, slips to number six.

Meanwhile, NuTrend's Athlon Mega 2 steps over from the power chart to snag top honors. The new Tangent Valera PC takes the second Best Buy, and Dell's inexpensive Dimension 2100 debuts at No. 8.

  1. NuTrend Athlon Mega 2: This speedy small-business system can pinch-hit as a multimedia workstation for tasks such as video editing.
  2. Tangent Valera PC: The speedy Valera would make a capable small-office system for users who need its dual-display or RAID hard drive capabilities, but you'd have to pay extra for a second hard drive to take advantage of the latter.
  3. Micro Express MicroFlex 1333A: It's not loaded with leading-edge extras, but the MicroFlex 1333A provides more than its sticker price suggests.
  4. ABS Conquest GL: An impressive competitor for the money, ABS's Conquest GL would make a solid small-office system for buyers on a tight budget.
  5. Polywell Poly 830K7-1000: With impressive performance and a removable hard drive, this Poly will suit users who shuttle large amounts of data, as well as small businesses that need to store sensitive information off-site.
  6. Dell OptiPlex GX150: This $1,386 feature-rich system offers something for everyone in your company -- from system administrators to cost accountants to end users.
  7. Premio Apollo 815EP: The Apollo 815EP is an inexpensive, corporate-ready system with lots of room for add-ons, though slightly more-expensive systems carry better components and offer equal roominess.
  8. Dell Dimension 2100: Many small- to medium-size businesses should appreciate this stylish, affordable system.
  9. Sys TaskMaster 950D: With fast performance and a graphics board that supports two monitors at once, this budget system will work in small offices.
  10. HP E-pc C10: The E-pc C10 will fit into space-constrained corporate environments where security and manageability are more important than upgradability.
