Movie piracy thrives on the Net

College students can download free movies from the Web

(CNN) -- While the music industry engages in courtroom battle with Napster, the motion picture industry contemplates how it will deal with peer-to-peer swapping of movies.

Some groups provide a certain service on their Web sites where people can find, trade and download movies. Some of them are still in theaters, and some are released on the Web before they're released to the general public.

"It's like going to Blockbuster without the walk, without the lines, and without the wait, and without paying," a college student said.

How will the movie industry deal with the new challenge of Internet copyright violations?
