Massive 'megacoaster' set to roll in April
(CNN) -- Nitro, said to be the biggest roller coaster in the northeastern United States, is scheduled to open on April 7 at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey. This new thrill ride is described as a "megacoaster" due to its huge size -- 230-foot altitude with 167 feet for the falls. How does it work? "This is a standard gravity coaster. It's brought up to the top of the lift by chain, then gravity takes over and it rolls through the entire course," said Bob Hoban with Six Flags Great Adventure. If Nitro can't satisfy some roller-coaster lovers, there is another one. The "Millennium Force" at Cedar Point Amusement Park in Ohio is 310 feet high and ranked as the biggest coaster in the United States. RELATED STORIES:
