India searches for alternative fuels

NEW DELHI, India (CNN) -- The city of New Delhi has appealed to India's Supreme Court for an extension on a deadline to convert the city's 10,000 polluting diesel buses to a cleaner burning fuel.

Three years ago, the court ordered the buses to convert to compressed natural gas -- but there's not enough gas to go around.

Some experts are now pushing for another alternative fuel widely used in Europe and the United States.
