SILVER SPRING, Maryland -- Investigators don't know what caused the blast in central Maryland that killed two people, completely leveled one home and left at least nine others so severely damaged that they are uninhabitable.

The explosion Monday morning could be felt for miles away and left chunks of the destroyed house hanging from trees in the yard.

Two bodies were found among the wreckage. Investigators determined that an elderly couple had lived in the home, but the victims had not been positively identified, Montgomery County fire Capt. Ty Stottlemyer said Monday.

Watch this report, in which neighbors tell of being awakened by the explosion.
