| Firefighters quickly douse Los Angeles high-rise blaze
LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- Los Angeles firefighters quickly extinguished a high-rise fire on an upper floor of the city's Metropolitan Transportation Authority building. All occupants of the building were evacuated and there were no injuries, a fire department spokesman told CNN. KCBS television broadcast video that showed firefighters dowsing flames with hoses. Large billows of white smoke poured from the building. Fire department spokesman Brian Humphrey said more than 125 firefighters were on the scene, securing the fire and supervising the evacuation of the building. The fire was confined to an edifice used by window washers near the top of the building, he said. Experts were trying to determine the cause of the blaze.
