Would-be robber wounds Falcons player
ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) -- Atlanta Falcons defensive back Elijah Williams was shot and wounded overnight outside a bar in Atlanta's Midtown section when someone tried to rob him, police said Saturday. The incident occurred about 2 a.m. EST Saturday outside the Shark Bar, said Atlanta Police Sgt. Rick Chambers. Police said a would-be robber shot Williams, 25, in the right thigh. He was treated at Grady Hospital and released . The University of Florida graduate began his NFL career in 1998. RELATED SITES:
