Minor explosion evacuates Florida schoolTAMPA, Florida (CNN) -- A minor explosion in a wastepaper basket forced the evacuation of Jefferson High School in Tampa, Florida, on Tuesday, according to school disctrict officials. No injuries or damage to the school were reported. Mark Hart, director of public affairs for the Hillsborough County School District, said it could have been a student prank. "The device was made up of household cleaning fluids and was comparable to small fireworks," Hart said. "It was a dangerous situation but no one was hurt." Police said the device was placed on the floor of the hallway. Hart said it took police about two hours to search the school and interview students. "Students were called back to classes by noon," he said. "We're trying to get things back to normal." Hart said several threats have been called into the school system over the past two weeks but this is the first actual incident. RELATED SITES:
