Flames engulf California factory
SOUTH EL MONTE, California (CNN) -- A clothing factory was engulfed in flames Friday in an industrial area east of Los Angeles. Capt. Brian Jordan of the Los Angeles County Fire Department said that shortly after 6 a.m. PT (9 a.m. ET) firefighters responded to a blaze at Dragon Knitware Manufacturing. Bright orange flames and thick smoke could be seen roiling from the roof and windows of the one-story factory building.
Jordan said 50 firefighters were pouring water on the structure in an attempt to keep the fire from spreading to nearby buildings. No one was reported hurt. RELATED SITES:
