Michigan police search for factory shooting suspectROMULUS, Michigan (CNN) -- Michigan police statewide are searching Friday for a factory worker who authorities said fatally shot a company supervisor and appeared suicidal. Orlando Amezcua, 32, an inspector at Metro Machine Co., walked into the office of a senior manager and shot him twice with a semi-automatic handgun about 11:30 a.m. ET, said Lt. David Early of the Romulus police. Amezcua left the plant and called his wife on his cell phone, telling her what he did and saying he was headed to a park in a nearby county, Early said. Amezcua indicated he may be suicidal, he said. Police around the state were searching for him Friday afternoon. Early said police were still investigating a possible motive for the shooting. Employees have told police there were no internal problems at the plant and was no visible tension between the two men. The 39-year-old victim, whose name was not released, died about 1:45 p.m. at Annapolis Hospital in Wayne, Michigan, said hospital spokeswoman Barbara Lewis. Early said he had suffered gunshot wounds to his head and body. Early said plant workers saw Amezcua walk in with the gun and rush out moments after the shots were fired. "We know that he came into work this morning and left for a couple hours, saying he had some personal business to attend to," Early said. "He came back to the plant and shortly afterwards, this altercation happened." Employees were sent home and union officials were discussing the incident, Early said. RELATED SITES:
