New Jersey church parking lot site of double killingWILLINGBORO, New Jersey (CNN) -- A minister was shot dead Sunday in her New Jersey church's parking lot by her estranged husband, who then turned the gun on himself, police said. A witness driving into the lot of the Christ Temple AME Baptist Church in Willingboro, about 13 miles east of Philadelphia, saw Minister Sylvia Haqq, 51, in an argument with her husband, Wadud Abdul Haqq, 53, police said. After Haqq shot his wife once in the head, she fell into the open trunk of his car. He then shot himself in the head with a .357-caliber Magnum and fell on top of her, said Robert Bernardi, the Burlington County prosecutor. Mrs. Haqq was pronounced dead at the scene; her husband died a few hours later at Cooper Medical Center in Camden. She had taken out a restraining order against him last Friday in Riverside Municipal Court, Bernardi said. A court date had been scheduled for next week to determine whether the order would be final. In January, the two were involved in an argument, Bernardi said. The couple have five children, ages 12 to 33. The shootings occurred shortly after a service inside the church began at 8 a.m. The witness entered the church and told members of the congregation, who alerted police. RELATED SITES:
