Two injured in high school shooting, police say
EL CAJON, California -- One person is in police custody after a shooting Thursday afternoon at Granite Hills High School in El Cajon, California, said Judy Cook, a spokeswoman for the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. No one was killed, sheriff's spokesman Lt. Dan Papp said. "There are a couple of people injured. I don't know exactly what the status is. We're waiting to assist if they need it," Papp said. Police found out about the shooting when it received an "officer needs help" call, said Cook. Surrounding streets were closed as a precaution. An unidentified person on a stretcher was taken into an ambulance outside the school. KGTV was broadcasting live pictures of students being escorted from the school. RELATED SITES:
