NEW YORK (CNN) -- A seven-alarm fire broke out in the Bronx early Tuesday morning. Several row houses were damaged as firefighters worked to contain the blaze. One person was reportedly injured. Nearly 200 firefighters are battling the blaze. The cause of the fire is not known. The fire was put under control a couple of hours after it started, according to Fire Commissioner Thomas Von Essen.
The fire was reported at 5:26 a.m. ET. The fire, which broke out in a two-story private house, spread to adjacent houses and went to a fifth alarm about an hour later. The smoke from the fire is visible for miles. RELATED SITES:
