Armed man holds bank workers hostage in Fla.FORT MYERS, Florida (CNN) -- Police were negotiating with an armed man Wednesday afternoon who was holding at least five employees hostage in a bank. A spokeswoman for the Fort Myers Police Department said police got the call at 1:22 p.m., but would not say whether the man was trying to rob the First Union branch. Kara Winton said there are no reports of injuries and would not discuss what weapons the man was carrying. "Our prime focus is to make sure everyone gets out safely and that no one outside gets hurt," she said. Local media reports said schools in the area were being let out early because of the hostage situation. RELATED SITES:
