Ugandan foundation helps women business owners with health insurance

KAMPALA, Uganda (CNN) -- Access to health care is crucial in Uganda, which has one of the highest HIV-AIDS infection rates in the world. Some estimates say 100,000 Ugandan Women contract HIV each year.

For more than 15 years, the Foundation for International Community Assistance--or FINCA--has been making small loans to women to help them start or expand their own businesses. Now a FINCA program in Uganda is arranging health insurance for its borrowers, some of who are infected with the HIV virus.
