Multicar pileup on Ontario highwayWOODSTOCK, Canada (CNN) -- Police in Ontario, Canada, shut down a two-mile stretch of the province's main highway Sunday after dozens of vehicles crashed during a snow squall, including at least two cars that burst into flames. There were no immediate reports of fatalities, authorities said. Dennis Harwood of the Ontario Provincial Police said all six lanes of Highway 401 were closed in both directions as authorities responded to the wrecks and tried to clear the scene. He said various car pileups were scattered over a two-mile portion of 401 between the communities of Ingersoll and Woodstock. Harwood did not have information on injuries or the number of vehicles involved, except to say that two cars caught on fire but have since been extinguished. Sgt. David Rektor said the cause of the accident was not immediately known, but investigators were on the scene. He said the accident happened during a spring snow storm and that at least six ambulances have responded. "We've got one big mess," he said. RELATED SITES:
