Stars Kidman and Crowe 'together'
SUVA, Fiji -- Australian movie stars Russell Crowe and Nicole Kidman are vacationing on the same luxury resort island in Fiji, sources on the island said Thursday. Sources at Nadi international airport confirmed Thursday both stars' jets remain parked at the airport. Resort management denied the 'Gladiator' and 'Moulin Rouge' actors were on Wakaya Island resort, but sources on the island, who spoke on condition of anonymity, insisted both stars were staying there, the Associated Press reported. Wakaya's luxury accommodation includes beach-front palm-thatched cottages known locally as bures. The resort's management routinely denies celebrities are staying there as a way of protecting their privacy. Kidman and her two adopted children arrived in the South Pacific nation last Friday on a private jet, the Fiji Sun newspaper reported Thursday. Crowe, who won this year's Best Actor Oscar for his role of Maximus in "Gladiator," arrived on his private jet Tuesday and immediately boarded a flight to Wakaya Island. The island has previously hosted celebrities including Bill Gates, Michelle Pfeiffer and Celine Dion, the newspaper said. Actors Kidman and Tom Cruise announced their separation earlier this year, saying diverging careers had driven a wedge into their 10-year marriage. The pair have two adopted children, Isabella, 8, and Connor, 6. Pictures of Cruise sitting with Crowe, both draped in a Sydney rugby league team's colors, were splashed across newspapers and supermarket tabloids in Australia last year, when Cruise and Kidman were in Sydney on separate film shoots. In the past, Crowe has been romantically linked with "Proof of Life" co-star Meg Ryan. |
